As a young boy, a violonist – virtuoso, I used to give recitals and concerts with orchestras at the philharmonies. I used to participate in the contests, too. Then, I got that Moscow scholarship, to study under the tutelage of the famous David Ojstrach. At the same time I fell desperately in love with American jazz and culture. I had two musical lives: Dr. Jackyl was a reliable student at a musical highschool and played 100 per cent classical music till 4 P.M. and then Mr. Hyde would appear in the jazz club „SeveentySeven” playing the sax 100 per cent jazz. At that time I didn`t want to mix my classical (unheard off those times!) violin with jazz. My dream was to link both kinds of music. I yearned to be the best classical violonist and the best jazz saxophonist. In my dreams I would give „double” concert when in the first part I would play the violin together with my classical string quartet as in the second one I would play the saxophone with my jazz quartet. Life turned out to be different. I had to put the violin aside. I started to play and travel around the world as a young saxophonist. Eventually I moved to my beloved New York, breaking the promise I had given to my mother that I would go to Moscow. For the reasons of my health I had to return to the violin after eight years. I was not able to play the saxophone at „the full gas”. I had to take the violin out of the closet and to begin playing it as if I played jazz the way I played the sax. All that time I had a feeling that I was betraying someone. Until today I`ve been repeating that the violin is my wife as the saxophone is my lover. I left Poland for good because I knew that there is much more to learn about and do with a true American jazz and American youth than anywhere else in Europe. Here in Poland, there was rarely anybody who was able of feeling and understanding the essence of jazz. Jazz is both life and the emotional and spiritual state at the same time. Miles David called it „Kind of blue”. As a jazz violonist I founded a band where I started to match the music of my childhood and adolescence with all my jazz, rock, and funky experience. I have never been deaf nor insensible to whatever is played around me. This way my famous Fusion was created. It took my straight to NYC where I met a group of young musicians from Jamaica Queens quarter with whom I have been playing till today. My music has evolved on and on: from acid-jazz to hip-hop. After having recorded „Urbanator” I realized that there was something still missing - it was what I had been secretly dreaming about. On the 27th of January 1995 first time in the history a NewYorker rapper permormed together with Symphonic Orchestra and Jazz Group in Czstochowa - Poland Since that day „God created music and people have divided it into categories”
